FIBRE OPTIC SOLID STATE GYRO SYSTEM

SP2000 FIBRE OPTIC GYRO CDUThe day of the solid state gyro is here.

Very rugged and transportable it is ideal for survey deployment.

On fast craft and small vessels it brings long term reliability that traditional gyros could not achieve.

The LITEF LFK95 is the heart of the system. The GEONAV SP2000 control and display unit makes it all work like a traditional gyro.

CDU FEATURES.

Tape screen, digital with ROT and digital heading, pitch and roll. Push button selectable.
Configuration menu screen leading to individual config screens.
GPS or manual speed and latitude input.
AC and DC power unit built in.

CDU INPUTS

115 or 230 VAC at 60 VA. OR
20 to 35 VDC at 50 VA.
GPS input. (4800/9600 auto) (The port outputs 24v to power an antenna GPS.)

CDU OUTPUTS

Port 1. Configurable rates. NMEA 0183 HEHDT and HEROT, plus HEXDR roll and pitch data.
Port 2 and Port 3. Configurable rates. 4800/9600 NMEA 0183, SKR80 or SGB.
STEPPER 6 steps per degree. Nominal 24 volt at 100 mA common positive, negative steps.
Alarm relay contact. Closed or pulses in alarm. 0.5 Amp resistive switching.

CONTROL AND DISPLAY UNITTHE SYSTEM is based on a fibre optic coil 500 m in length, 8 cm in diameter, a modified semiconductor laser, lithium niobate crystal and analogue to digital signals processing. (Far too complex to describe here!) The LFK95 has three Fibre Optic Gyros (FOG) for the X, Y and Z axis, plus electronic level sensors.

The LFK 95 is set-up and controlled by the SP2000 CDU which also provides the power.

The SP2000 makes the system into a marine gyrocompass. In normal operation you need only switch on and forget. No operator intervention is needed. Speed and position are automatically input from a separate GPS, which is ideally an active antenna type that plugs straight into the back of the SP2000. Manual speed and latitude may be used.

INSTALLATION is easy. The configuration screen allows electronic fine-correction of heading, roll and pitch angles. The data outputs are configurable too and saved in battery-backed ram. The NMEA 0183 data may be sent to navigation aids directly or via an NMEA 0183 distribution interface. The stepper output is sufficient in power to drive several electronic interfaces, or via retransmission units for a complete installation on any ship.

CONNECTIONS. AC input IEC. Circular MIL type for DC and LFK95. Data, GPS, stepper are 9 way D socket connectors.
